Privacy Notice

What we collect

Your email address, and, if you sign in to earn a certificate, the name and profile photo your account provider (Google or GitHub) shares with us. If you submit a GitHub repository as proof of work, we store that repository URL and your GitHub username.

Why we collect it

• To send the specific email you asked for — a phase-launch notification, or the academy newsletter — and nothing else.
• To issue and verify certificates you earn.
• To operate the site (sign-in, progress, quiz results).

Who processes it

Neon (database hosting), Resend (email delivery), Google and GitHub (sign-in). We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

Email subscription records are kept until you unsubscribe. Account and certificate records are kept while your account exists.

Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not run Google Analytics, ad pixels, or any third-party tracker. Signing in sets a session cookie so you stay logged in — strictly necessary, nothing else reads it. If you use the site without an account, your quiz results and phase progress are saved only in your browser's local storage so you do not lose them; we never see that data. Phase videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode and only load after you press play, at which point YouTube may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy.

Your email preferences

A phase-launch notification is a single, one-time email. The academy newsletter is a separate, ongoing subscription you opt into independently. Every email includes a link to manage or cancel your preferences, or unsubscribe from everything at /email-preferences.
